Brief Summary about the Department

• Established in the year 1958.

• Mathematics (Pass) course started in the year 1960.

• Mathematics (Honours) course introduced in the year 1964 (Order No. I/C/579/64).

• Two year higher secondary science course offered till 1998.

• Set up a Computer laboratory in the year 2005 in the 2nd flooe of the main building. At that time six computers were purchased for the purpose. Now the computer laboratory contains about 15 computers.

• Presently the department is running with three full time faculty members.

• About 138 students undergoing Mathematics (Honours) and 3 & 4 year major course in the current academic session.

• In General Course (CBCS) and Minor Course in Mathematics there are about 150 students i our Department.

• Glorious track record of excellent University results and well-placed ex students are assets of the Department.

To achive excellence in rendering knowledge of Mathematical Sciences to the students who get inspired to step into higher education or to work in multidisciplinary fields.

• Imparting quality mathematics education through innovative teaching methods.
• To provide environment where students can practice self-learning.
• To make the students competent users of mathematics amd understand the use of mathematics in other discipline.
